EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL 2008 PUBLIC INFORMATION & ADMISSION
The fifth edition of the European Film Festival will be held from September 8 until September 11, 2008 at the Palladium Cinema Complex owned and operated by Santikos Theatres at 17703 IH 10 West (The Rim) past Loop 1604 to the right.
The Festival is organized and managed by The European Film Festival Corporation, a not for profit corporation. John L. Collet is the project manager.

The co-organizers are:
- Santikos Theatres and Mr. John Santikos who generously offers the use of five theatres (four for projection, one for discussion panels). Santikos Theatres play an active role in the organization and promotion of the Festival.
- The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures with the University of Texas at San Antonio which is in charge of the selection of films and discussion panels.
The co-sponsors are:
- The Houston Consulates of France, Germany, Greece, Spain and the Atlanta Consulate of Switzerland. The Cultural Services of their Embassies and the Cultural Institutes of their countries support the Festival, supplying films and funding.
- The City of San Antonio with three Departments: Office of Cultural Affairs, San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau and International Affairs Department. They support the Festival, supplying funding and promotional assistance.
The goals of the Festival are to:
- develop an interest in European contemporary cinema among students, faculty and movie going public.
- create a forum for cinema professionals in San Antonio.
- offer San Antonio a culture-oriented promotional tool.
Film Festival Details:
- Admission is FREE
- All movies are in their original version with English subtitles
- Movies will be shown four times each to accommodate people schedule
- Plan to arrive at the theatre 20 minutes ahead of time (parking, ticketing and access)
- All screening theatres are on the second floor of the Palladium
- Panel discussions are between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. every day in one of the V.I.P. theatre on the second floor of the Palladium
At the time of the Festival France will be presiding the European Union. The inaugural movie will be the French "Qui m'aime me suive" (Follow me if you love me) at 4:20 p.m. on Monday September 8. At 4:00 p.m. Mr. Dominique Chastres, French Cultural Attache with the French Embassy, will comment briefly about the trends in European cinema and present the movie.
